But the city is always up to delight the Ahmedabadis. the biggest stadium has been shaped in the city at Motera Stadium Ground.
The Motera stadium in Ahmedabad has added quite a few glorious moments to the history of the game and also to the name of some remarkable players.
In the year 1987, Sunil Gavaskar scored his 10,000th test run at Motera stadium. Kapil Dev broke Richard Hadlee’s world record of 431 Test wickets here at Motera stadium And in the year 1999, Sachin Tendulkar scored his first double century at Motera.
The same glory is about to return to the city of Ahmedabad because Motera stadium is being rebuilt as the World’s Largest Cricket stadium.

2. Eden Gardens, Kolkata: This ground was established in the year 1864 and has the capacity to accommodate the audience of 66,000 people.
3. Shaheed Vir Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium which is located in Raipur, India accommodates 65,000 people.
4. Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi hold the capacity for 60,000 people.

Motera Stadium Capacity:
The Motera Stadium being built in Ahmedabad will be the World’s largest cricket stadium as it will accommodate 1.1 lakh people.
The foundation stone for Motera Cricket Stadium has been laid in January 2018.
Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India has ideated the project and has offered for it to be led by Gujarat Cricket Association.

The construction tender for Motera cricket ground has been given to Larson and Toubro.
Designing of the stadium has been assigned to the renowned architecture firm M/s Populous.
The Motera Cricket Stadium will be built at a cost of 700 crores. It is to be constructed on an area of 63 Acres of land.
All inclusive features at Motera Stadium:
The Motera cricket stadium will constitute of a Clubhouse with over 50 rooms, 76 Corporate boxes, 4 Dressing rooms, 3 practising grounds for the cricketers, an Indoor training academy, an Olympics size swimming pool, a parking area with a space that is enough to accommodate 3,000 four wheelers and up to 10,000 two-wheelers.
Traffic issues have also been taken into consideration while Motera Cricket Stadium was being constructed. The new layout will let the traffic get diverged in three directions.
Construction of Motera cricket stadium will enable Gujarat to hold two world records. One for the statue of unity that is the world’s largest statue, the second one for housing the largest cricket stadium in the World.
